Cambodian Light Orphanage

We visited the Cambodian Light Children's Orphanage a few days ago. It was amazing to see how much can happen with so few resources and money in a place like the slums of Phnom Penh. A little bit of money for Westerners can go a really long way in a place like this. The children here just blew me away with their dancing and musical skills. The performance you'll see in the video was just so beautiful. Mr. Pat Noun, the founder of the orphanage, was so welcoming. All the improvements he wants create to help the kids be just a little bit more comfortable while trying to learn was super inspiring.

That was a really beautiful video! It fun to watch because you can tell its being filmed with fresh thirsty eyes. Thanks for this as I'm stranded on my cross-country trip in AZ...It's raining here, but sunny in your video!:)

You guys are doing such great work.
You might appreciate this organization "The Soul of Money Institute". I find their approach empowering.

Hi!

You two really set an example for everyone who wants to do some videoblogging and change the world bit by bit, and in your way to that, we even have access to those awesome pictures you produce.

I can just imagine the sleep time you don't have so that we can see your edited stuff right now, thanks for that!

Thank you for bring us to Cambodia with you. Are the schools teaching English as well as the indigenous languages? I wonder if there would be any need for any of all the school books we discard here in the states.

The video is great! However, sometimes things are not as they appear: Orphans for profit

Who knows how much is true or not, but something to be aware of as you move along your journey.

agreed. My american cynicism is in full effect. I always think people are going to rip us off.

there were women in Cambodia who laid out their dirty, naked children in front of the rich hotels to get money. It's a game.

Seeing these places and people myself helps make things clearer. One thing for sure: $100 goes a long way here.

ah yes it's really good to be skeptical of any organization you might be donating money to. this was an interesting article that ezwrighter linked to: http://chlim01.blogspot.com/2007/03/orphans-of-profit-motive.html

i think it's important to research as much as possible before giving.
