I'm glad I didn't have to go to the post office that day.

I have been one of those poor tax payers at that post office before. Not for a few years though.

Isn't this amazing?? Because on April 16th of every year, you know that in 351 days you will have to mail your taxes again. So how can so many people drag their feet until they have to make a mad dash to some post office that stays open til midnight and gives out free hot dogs--I mean, it's not like they change the date every year or it's some kind of lottery and if you show up on April 15 they give out winning numbers and those people don't have to pay or file. Now there's an idea! How about a discount for people who file early?

Here's what really pisses me off--did you know that if you earn as little as $2500 dollars in interest income, that you will automatically be disqualified from ANY earned income credit??

So you work hard, invest your money like a good little doobie, and earn a little--very little--income from the investment. And your reward is that any and all credit for earned income is wiped out. Great. We need tax reform in the worst way. Our tax code is so complex ( and changing constantly) that even the people who write it don't understand it. How much you want to bet that if you took a somewhat complex return to 5 different preparers you would get 5 different results. That would be an interesting poll.
Well, I have a roast in the freezer so have to run. Cheers!!
