Timelapse AND nightvision? I want that camera!
(I just filmed a fox outside my window, staring at me. it's 2.30am.)
I don't think Timelapse is allowed under Lumiere Rules, but that's OK. The focus of the single frame, the absence of sound and the 60 second time limit are really getting us all thinking differently, opening our eyes to new things - which is the point, isn't it?

andreas and brittany agreed that any "effects" can be done if done in camera. like nightshot and timelapse. hurray.

This is AWESOME! It makes me want to do the same thing for myself just to see what I do all night. I'm really curious now.

I try to be inclusive on the project page and I've only removed one video from there (it had a post-roll ad, the author removed the ad and I included the video again). Many of the videos break the rules - either with heavy compression (breaking the effects rule, I have broken this a couple of times) or by using title cards and/or bumpers (breaking the editing rule. I don't like this, but as someone told me "it's an ego thing").

To me the most important thing is that the videos are made in the spirit of the lumiere rules. Rupert put it more eloquently. The goal is to make you think differently about you camera and how you use it to record the world around you.

As for the "everything in camera" comment... everything to a point. My camera has a flipbook feature where you can take any 100 photos taken and string them together to a video. Those videos would definitely not have anything in common with a lumiere.

Your video is different from a lumiere in that it was not a single recording of a fleeting moment, but a continuous surveillance. I'm still a big believer in bending the rules and I've already added this video to the lumiere page because it's just too cool to not have there.

If pressed I may admit that I have used a polarizer filter in one of my lumieres and that I will be using one in a future one (stuff going on below water surface that I can't record without the filter). Take that as you wish. :o)

I've been seeing a lot of these lumiere vids. Not bad.

Hell yes this counts! Bring it ON, Ryanne! I sleep like a crazy person - you're mad calm compared to me. I'd also be snuggling all over the other person in the bed, which definitely isn't a lumiere I want to show folks. Yeeps.

It makes me wonder if we move that much.
