I'm linking to Verdi's videos because he's been taking great footage while we're here. Also, I was trying not to be nervous today for my presentation and didn't tape as much as I would have liked. Zadi and Verdi both taped my presentation, so i'll be sure to get some clips to put up. It was fun and our session had great people!

We're at BlogHer in CALI!

If you had told me last summer that I would, within one year, travel to California 3 times, I would think you were crazy. Who, me? Traveling all over the country to tell people about videoblogging? Yes me. They asked me! And I'm so honored to be here at BlogHer.

So You Want To Be Entertained?

This article came out in the New York Times about videoblogging.
A lot of us thought it was poorly researched and didn't show videoblogging in it's true light. The last paragraph really bothered me:

"Right now it seems that video bloggers can't agree what vlogs are exactly, and some of them want to keep it that way. 'What's the rush to define it now?' Mr. Verdi asks in his video manifesto. 'It would be like trying to pick a career and a mate for a newborn.'
But indeed, the newborn seems to have picked its mate. Congratulations. It's television!"

See Chuck's rant HERE

I've been thinking about this for a couple weeks so I made a video...

Music is Entertain by Sleater Kinney
These are the lyrics I used, appropriate for how I'm feeling:

So you want to be entertained?
Please look away (Don't look away)
We're not here 'cause we want to entertain
Go away (Don't go away)
Reality is the new fiction they say
Truth is truer these days, truth is man-made
If you're here 'cause you want to be entertained
Please go away

If your art is done, Johnny get your gun
Join the rank and file, on your TV dial

Look around they are lying to you
Can't you see it's just a silly ruse?
They are lying, and I am lying too.
All you want is entertainment,
Rip me open it's so freeing

If your art is done, Johnny get your gun
Join the rank and file, on your TV dial

Goodbye Little Station Wagon

These are the fine folks who bought my beloved 1996 Subaru Outback. They are parents to be and I hope they love my car as much as I did for the short, short year that I had it. Thanks Mom for taking the picture. Sigh, yeah I loved my car that much that I needed to see who bought it to feel ok about letting it go...

Verdi Gets Pissed

This was a clip from the last video conference that some of us vlogger nerds do every couple days. This is how we hang out, I'm serious.
I like what Verdi was saying. We're not here to be on TV. We're here to be parallel to TV, right? Ro posted this, thanks Ro.
